Overview of the Role
As an Associate Manager - Applied Machine Learning, you will architect, design and develop advanced GenAI products and services. This role requires strong technical expertise in machine learning along with team leadership skills. You will contribute to the development of LLM (Large Language Model) based products and services, combine GenAI and traditional ML approaches to deliver key product requirements.
Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and business leaders, to deliver impactful, scalable machine-learning solutions that meet business requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the team by setting clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations that align with business objectives, ensuring everyone stays focused, motivated, and on track to meet the project milestones.
- Architect and oversee the entire lifecycle of LLM based GenAI projects, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver on time and in line with business needs while proactively addressing challenges as they arise.
- Take ownership of complex technical and operational issues during the project lifecycle, troubleshooting, and providing solutions to keep projects moving forward efficiently.
- Work closely with the infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure models are deployed and integrated seamlessly into the production environments.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing agile practices, running regular retrospectives, and applying lessons learned to enhance future projects and processes.
- Stay up to date with emerging machine learning technologies, conducting research and prototyping new algorithms to solve complex challenges.
- Motivate the team to consistently deliver high-quality results on time while maintaining a collaborative and positive work environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or any other analytical field.
- Minimum a year of experience in Gen AI, Agentic AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs like LangChain, LLaMA, and transformer models).
- Hands-on experience in building RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) pipelines.
- Skilled in using NLP, NLG, Text Analytics and using Transformer-based models like Llama, BERT etc
- 10+ years of experience as an Applied Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist, with a minimum of 5 years of expertise in Python.
- Experience in system design and architecture, with a strong command over design principles focused on Python.
- Hands-on experience with Core Python and advanced Python features and libraries such as PyTorch, FAST API.
- Involved in classification and clustering algorithms, including ensemble models like Gradient Boosting Machines, XGBoost, LightGBM, Predictive Modelling, Decision tree, Linear regression, SVM etc.
- In-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) and Databases (SQL & NoSQL).
- Proficient in using ORM tools like SQLAlchemy or Django ORM, with expertise in developing, integrating, and testing RESTful services.
- Hands-on experience in debugging and using testing frameworks like pytest or unit test.
- Familiar with front-end fundamentals and web development frameworks, with a deep understanding of Agile methodology.
- Excellent communication skills and possess strong problem-solving skills.
